Taking on a novel is a learning experience. I’ve started many, but never fully committed to finishing one.
I started Come Home when I was in 11th grade. I had joined Quizilla and was a constant poster. I longed to have my story get out there. I still believed in fairy tale romances back then and decided that I was going to start a love story. I took an unusual interest in World War II and thus Shawn Wiste’s life was born.
This is first time I’ve taken a serious look at this piece in nearly 6 years and I’ve got my work cut out for me. I’ve change the title, deleted a lot, rewrote scenes, deleted those and re-rewrote scenes a hundred times over. I’m 27 pages in right now and I’m planning on finishing this project by the end of the month.
So here‘s a little bit you all.

The car accident played over in their minds, I’m sure. I couldn’t do anything about it though, and it killed me inside; I didn’t want it to end like this. What I wanted, however, hadn’t mattered for years, so I expected my death to be something like this.
